BPI Foundation Pagpupugay Scholarship: Honoring the Courageous and Selfless

The BPI Foundation, the social development arm of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), is proud to offer its Pagpupugay Scholarship Program for the academic year 2023-2024. The Pagpupugay Scholarship Program is open to the children of Filipino soldiers, police officers, firefighters, healthcare workers, and other frontliners who have lost their lives or have been permanently disabled in the line of duty. The scholarship program covers tuition fees, books, and other school-related expenses, and is open to students who are currently enrolled in their second to fourth year of college.


To apply for the BPI Foundation Pagpupugay Scholarship, interested applicants must visit the BPI Foundation website to download and complete the application form. Applicants must also submit the following requirements:

  • Certificate of Honorable Discharge or Service Record of the parent or legal guardian
  • Certified true copy of grades (Cumulative GPA)
  • Certification from the Registrar's Office indicating the applicant's year level, course, and academic standing
  • Proof of annual household income (Income Tax Return or Certificate of Indigency, whichever is applicable)
  • Two (2) Recommendation Letters from the Dean, Guidance Counselor, and/or professor
  • Applicants must also submit a 300-word essay on "How will I honor my parent or legal guardian's legacy of service and sacrifice?"

The deadline for submission of applications is on June 30, 2023.
